Bridlington; 40th Anniversary Falklands Remembrance Parade & Church Service
Saturday 2nd April.

The Town Mayor of Bridlington is arranging a 40th Anniversary Falklands Remembrance Parade & Church Service on Saturday 2nd April.

The parade is only a short distance around 400 mtrs  from the High Street to the Priory Church .

The Parade will form up around 14.30 for stepping of around 14.45

Church Service will start 15.00 hrs .

Bridlington has a unique link to the war not just with its veterans but  through a local radio ham operator who was in contact with Reg Silvey at Port Stanley in the Falklands and Mr Bob North relayed messages from Mr Silvey about damage caused by RAF bombing raids on Stanley airport and map coordinates of Argentine weaponry to the Ministry of Defence.

A local pub in the town is putting on a bit of food and offering all veterans wearing Medals / Veterans badge a free drink .

All Welcome (not just Falklands veterans)

We have our local pipe & drum band leading the Parade with some drum cadets from 252 Squadron RAF cadets and inside the Priory church we have the Bridlington excelsior brass band and lone bugler.

The service will be conducted by the Rev Matthew Pollard  who is also the local RBL branch padre .
