This page is dedicated to the memory of:
Mrs
Mary Goodwin
Falkland Islands
Just a brief memory of Mary. I lodged in her busy house when I was a VSO teacher in 74-75. Occasionally shared a room with Laurie. I was young and always looking for something exciting, so I probably didn’t give enough time to Mary, but she was a very kindly soul and her meals were wonderful. I have ‘venison’ in my diary – where did that come from? Remember meeting the inspirational BAS guys there in Summer of 74/5. Don the Chippy? Had a tour of the Bransfield. Remember being there when my team West Ham won the FA cup in May 75 – radio news and newspapers only of course. What a generous and lively household it was. I felt at home. RIP Mary.
