This page is dedicated to the memory of:
Guardsman
Ronald Tanbini
2nd Battalion Scots Guards
Iain Piper
Ronnie Tanbini grew up with me in Dundee attended Charleston primary school and then went to Logie Modern Secondry, he was a great guy always ready with a laugh, although not always funny the laugh prevailed, he had a brother “Roddie” a year younger who was in my class at the schools above.
One leave Ronnie came home on a visit and came to his old school the Logie. When I saw him that was enough for me I signed up and joined the guards.
One month later I was in a place called Pirbright, The Guards Depot, there was no sign of Ronnie he had passed out and was serving as a pioneer with the 2nd Batt Scots Guards the only time I ever met him was 3yrs later back in Dundee when we were both home on leave. After training I was posted to 1 SG, and now that I am out of the army I always think back and remember Ronnie, a great guy.
Family and friends are encouraged to contribute.
