This page is dedicated to the memory of:
Ian Edward Turnbull
Susan Turnbull, Sister
Ian Turnbull is my brother, I was only 11 years old when his ship HMS. Coventry went down on the 25th May at the Falkland Islands. Ian was a great brother and friend to me, we had our fights like most brothers and sisters but you couldn’t get a closer pair than me and him. Ian is forever in my thoughts every day and I love him with all my heart. He always wanted to be in the Navy and it was like a dream come true to him when that dream became reality.
Love you all the world, Ian.
All My Love, Susan and the nephew you never met David Ian Edward (aged 8) he asks about you all the time and I explain to him that you were a kind and loving person.
Stuart Luck – Ex RN
I first met Ian (Tiny to those who knew him) when he joined HMS Dryad as a very young chef. A great big lad with a heart of gold was Tiny, and what he did not know about fishing was not worth mentioning. We spent hours fishing at the Dryad lake – the galley must have wondered where all the luncheon meat was going.
He was always up for a laugh and he really was a gentle giant.
Family and friends are encouraged to contribute.
