This page is dedicated to the memory of:

Susan Whitley

Falkland Islands

I met Susan when she worked at Bassingbourn Village College in Cambridgeshire, I think it was 1973 or thereabouts.  My mother had a part time job in the kitchens and she told Susan that I could give her a lift into Royston so she could go to the Folk club which met on Thursday evenings.  She came round to our house in the same village and that was how I remember her, someone who could fill a room with her personality.  I didn’t meet her again after that, I went off to work in Canada soon afterwards and she eventually ended up in the Falkland Islands.  We read her reports in the Royston newspaper at the time of the war and after they suddenly stopped we heard of her tragic end.  Rest In Peace Susan, you are not forgotten.

Richard Sproulle, my mother was Lily Sproulle.Family and friends are encouraged to contribute.
