I was a Gunner on a Blues & Royals Scimitar tank in the Falklands. My troop was also at Tumbledown but not like Mal at the top, we were on the ground below the Mountain. I know Malcomson because we both were in 15 Platoon Caterham Company, enduring basic training together at Guards Depot. We got on and I have many memories of Malcomson and I sitting on our beds bulling boots together and grumbling!
I always knew him as Mal.
I have a very poignant memory of whilst I believe at Fitzroy we came under air attack i was out of my wagon (probably mumping supplies) so jumped into a ditch to my suprise there was Mal he gave me his big cheesy grin we shook hands. And then i ran of back to my wagon.
I never saw Mal again and was deeply saddened to hear of his falling.
I Salute you Mal my fellow crow!
