Lance Corporal James Hamilton ‘Doc’ Murdoch, was born on 21st May 1957 in Renfrew, Scotland.  He died after being wounded during the Battle for Mount Longdon on 12 June 1982, aged 25 years old. He is now buried at Arkleston Cemetery, Paisley, Scotland.

In 2022, as part of the 40th Anniversary commemorations, geographical features were identified and named after the fallen of 1982.   MURDOCH BAY is a west facing bay at Brown Point, at the entrance to Christmas Harbour on the north shore of King George Bay, West Falkland.
