Robert Allan Burns

22nd Special Air Service Regiment

Robert, born 31st July 1959, served with the Royal Signals prior to joining the Special Air Service.

He died on 19th May 1982 when the Sea King helicopter transporting him crashed into the sea.

In 2022, as part of the 40th Anniversary commemorations, geographical features were identified and named after the fallen of 1982.   BURNS LAGOON is a tidal lagoon between Muddy Creek and Kings Creek, at the northwest end of Port Salvador, East Falkland.
