Ian, from Pontypridd in Mid Glamorgan, was born on 13th March 1963.
He died on 8th June 1982 when the Sir Galahad was bombed in Fitzroy Sound.

In 2022, as part of the 40th Anniversary commemorations, geographical features were identified and named after the fallen of 1982. DALE ISLAND is a Tussac island in the northwest arm at the head of the Bay of Harbours, East Falkland.
It is in position
