Sidney, aka Sid was born on 18th November 1947.  He served with the Parachute Regiment prior to joining the Special Air Service.

He died on 19th May 1982, when the Sea King helicopter he was in crashed into the sea.

In 2022, as part of the 40th Anniversary commemorations, geographical features were identified and named after the fallen of 1982.   DAVIDSON ISLAND is a small Tussac island southwest of the Belcher Islands in Choiseul Sound, East Falkland.
