Michael, from Llechryd in Dyfed, was born on the 20th June 1958.

He died when the Sir Galahad was bombed in Fitzroy Sound.

In 2022, as part of the 40th Anniversary commemorations, geographical features were identified and named after the fallen of 1982.   DUNPHY ISLET is a small tussac island between Button Bay and Archer Cove, on the north shore of Choiseul Sound, East Falkland.
