Edmund, from Gillingham in Kent was born on 17th June 1944.
He died on 25th May 1982 when the Atlantic Conveyor was hit by an Exocet missile.

In 2022, as part of the 40th Anniversary commemorations, geographical features were identified and named after the fallen of 1982. FLANAGAN BAY is on the north shore of Ruggles Bay, on the Falkland Sound side of East Falkland.
