He was killed in action on Two Sisters on 11th June 1982.

In 2022, as part of the 40th Anniversary commemorations, geographical features were identified and named after the fallen of 1982. MACPHERSON ISLAND is a small tussac island west of the entrance to Double Creek on West Falkland.
