Stewart Peter Frank McLaughlin

3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment

Corporal Stewart Peter Frank McLaughlin, from Wallasey, Merseyside, was born on the 12th October 1954.  

He and was a Section Commander in 5 Platoon, B Company, 3 PARA which led the main assault on Mount Longdon.

He died during the battle on 12 June 1982, aged 27 years old.

He rests at Rake Lane Cemetery, in Wallasey, Merseyside.

In 2022, as part of the 40th Anniversary commemorations, geographical features were identified and named after the fallen of 1982.   McLAUGHLIN BAY is a small bay at the east entrance to Estancia Creek, at the southeast head of Port Salvador, East Falkland.
