HMS Ardent
John, from Llanberis, Gwynedd, was born on 9th February 1944.
He was killed on 21st May 1982, when HMS Ardent was bombed and sunk while operating off the northern coast of West Falkland.

In 2022, as part of the 40th Anniversary commemorations, geographical features were identified and named after the fallen of 1982. ROBERTS ISLAND is the larger of 2 tussac islands in Cape Lagoon, on the West Falkland side of Falkland Sound.
