John Leslie Arthy

22nd Special Air Service Regiment

John was born on 27 October 1954. He served with the Welsh Guards prior to joining the Special Air Service.

He died on the 19th May 1982, when the Sea King helicopter he was in struck the sea.

In 2022, as part of the 40^th Anniversary commemorations, geographical features were identified and named after the fallen of 1982. ARTHY ROCKS are prominent rocks south of Mount Usborne on Mainland East Falkland.
