Francis, from reading in Berkshire, was born on 18th April 1963.
He was killed in action on 12th June 1982, during the Battle of Wireless Ridge.

In 2022, as part of the 40th Anniversary commemorations, geographical features were identified and named after the fallen of 1982. SLOUGH ISLET is a small tussac island between Scott Island and Arrow Islands in Choiseul Sound, East Falkland.
