I remember James from school, we were in the same class he was friendly with Keith and Martin Tobin. He was always laughing and was very funny, and in school I had a big crush on him, even now I think about him he is always in my head and heart.

I had the privilege of growing up with James & remember how proud his family were when he passed out as a Welsh Guard.

My Brother Martin was close to James & he was always calling to our house, my mother loved him. James was also a very good fisherman, I’m very proud to have known him & I only recently learned there’s an area named after him on The Falkland Islands.

I named my Son after him, still deeply miss him always in my thoughts god bless.

Our paths crossed while on a Joint Services parachute course at Netheravon in May 1981. When leaving the jump aircraft James would always try and touch the fixed undercarriage wheel when exiting the aircraft. I visit his memorial at St. Theresa’s church/school every 8th June. I’m now 61. I often reflect on the fact that James never got to grow old, as I did. I met his dad, Ed, a few years ago. I now reside in Port Talbot, his home  town.

Hope you found your way home, Jim. RIP
