Private Mark Holman-Smith was born on the 9th March 1963.  

He joined Infantry Junior Leaders Battalion Shornecliffe 1979 Arnhem Company, and served with 2 PARA as a radio operator in the Falklands.

He died on the 28th May 1982, during the battle for Goose Green, aged 19.

Much missed friend and airborne brother.

Mark is buried in the Falkland Islands.

In 2022, as part of the 40th Anniversary commemorations, geographical features were identified and named after the fallen of 1982.   HOLMAN-SMITH POINT is a prominent point between Cliff Point and East Point on the east coast of Saunders Island, West Falkland.
